When the Republicans get their reactionary freak on -- yes, tell us all about the South Carolina battleflag, and pretend to be Pro-Life -- and its like the Democrats are speaking directly to me. And you get theatrical moments like this -- the Edwardses picking fights with Ann Coulter to prove that they're the ones she hates most.
I know, I know, there's no substance there, and it won't last, but for 18 short sweet months of the cycle, it almost seems like the bad-guys will make themselves unelectable, and the good guys will be worth electing.
